ERGOFRESH

A single welding operator can produce up to 40 grams of airborne fumes and particles per hour. The new ERGOFRESH is our answer to the demand for better safety. With the ERGOFRESH fume extraction MIG torch, a welder and their colleagues will breathe clean air rather than the fumes created during the welding process. The extraction efficiency for all ERGOFRESH models has been measured according to new standard ISO 21904. Under this standard, 94% of welding fumes are removed directly as they are generated—and long before they reach the welder’s breathing area.

Ergonomics 

In addition to enjoying clean air, the ERGOFRESH guarantees premium ergonomics The natural position of the human hand has been the leading principle in designing the handle of the ERGOFRESH from start to finish.

Trigger

The ERGOFRESH trigger solution has been fitted with a sealed microswitch trigger. It is more reliable than the alternative mechanical solution which has an open contact exposed to dirt, dust, and humidity. The micro switch is IP67 protected, a much higher standard than other electrical components on welding systems, ensuring a long lifetime of reliable use.

Consumables

The ERGOFRESH is compatible with ERGOPLUS torch consumables (excludes the gas nozzle). The ERGOFRESH gas nozzle and vacuum nozzle combination is patent pending. The gas nozzle and vacuum nozzle can be replaced separately. All the products fulfill the requirements of ISO 21904 (welding without vacuum nozzle must be prevented).

Hose Package

The hose package consists of a vacuum hose covered by leather. Leather is the most durable material against sharp edges and corners. It ensures that the vacuum hose does not get damaged and provides smooth movement of the hose as the welder goes about their work. The flexible vacuum hose is connected to the handle by a ball joint whose special structure is designed to avoid leakages.

Usability

One of the key features in the ergonomic design of the ERGOFRESH is the detachable pistol grip handle. When welding using the traditional handle, the welders’ shoulder and elbow muscles are under the constant stress of the workload. With the pistol grip handle the shoulder and elbow position is completely different and the muscle strength load is 25–64% lower depending on the welding position (EMG-measurements made by an independent specialist company- Myontec). The pistol grip is designed to be easy detachable with one click and no tools needed. Due to its small size, the pistol grip can easily be carried in the welders’ pocket. The pistol grip is included in every standard torch sales package.

Technology

The ERGOFRESH handle is equipped with a bypass lid. The lid is located under the welder’s thumb when they are holding the torch by the standard handle. The bypass lid is particularly needed when welding in tight inner conners where there is a risk of inadvertently vacuuming the shield gas away along with the fumes. With effortless use of the bypass lid, the welder can adjust the amount of vacuum when needed and thus avoid possible welding defects.
