Always the best results, regardless of the power grid

With the Ignis 150/180 you can achieve a stable arc even with long mains cables or voltage fluctuations. This robust welding system always delivers perfect results: in unstable mains conditions, in generator operation or over long ranges. This makes the Ignis ideal for use on construction sites, for repair and maintenance work in industry and agriculture, and even in the private home workshop.

Reliable in all situations

All welding jobs have their own unique challenges. Manual metal arc welding places extra high demands on the welder. The welder must be able to withstand all kinds of loads and weather conditions – whether it is placed deep underground or at high altitudes. This also applies if there is no stable power supply available. Then you need the right welding system – like the Ignis 150/180, which helps you maximize your welding potential even in difficult conditions.
Fronius Ignis

Compact, robust, reliable

With the compact Ignis product range, welding becomes perfect even under the most difficult conditions, in very confined spaces and both indoors and outdoors. The robust and resistant housing is not affected by external factors such as dust or moisture. Guiding technology and a variety of functions make it easier to start welding and the entire welding process. In other words, you can concentrate completely on your work.

Mobile and resilient

Both models have a very low weight of 6.5 kg (Ignis 150) and 8.8 kg (Ignis 180) and are therefore also perfect for mobile use. The robust construction of the devices and the integrated stainless steel filter provide reliable protection even during demanding welding work outdoors or in unstable weather conditions.

Full power even with long power cables

Perfect welding results, even with mains cables of up to 100 metres, are a given with the Ignis 150/180. This is possible thanks in part to the integrated PFC technology (Power Factor Correction). This makes the units extra energy efficient and minimises disruptive feedback into the mains.

Simple and user-friendly handling

The intuitive operating concept and 7-segment display make it quick to read the set welding parameters and facilitate handling. Since the user interface is positioned slightly recessed, it is also well protected against external influences.

Different versions and extra features

Ignis TIG models enable mobile TIG welding and convenient remote control, even in MMA mode. The Ignis 180 is also available in country-specific versions and can therefore also be used in regions with different mains voltages.

Stable arc without compromise

HotStart

To make it easier to ignite the electrode, the current in the welding machine is increased for a fraction of a second. The HotStart function is specially designed for welding with rutile electrodes and CEL electrodes.

SoftStart

This function provides a stable arc at the start of welding and has been developed especially for basic electrodes welded with low welding current.

Anti-stick

Prevents electrode glow: If the electrode sticks during manual metal arc welding – which is equivalent to a short circuit – the welding machine’s output power is immediately shut off.

MMA pulse

Nicer welds and even faster welding thanks to the MMA pulse function – especially in difficult situations.

TrackingArc

Works like a “flashlight”: The arc ignition with only eight amps makes it easier to find the exact starting position when re-igniting after welding or an electrode change. This helps you avoid welding defects such as insufficiently filled end craters or weld pooling and tedious rework. The TrackingArc function is particularly suitable for applications where no automatic welding helmet or shield is used.

TIG Features at Ignis

TIG Comfort Stop

Prevents annoying arc interruptions at the end of the weld: Once welding is complete, the welding current is automatically switched off – after a specific change in the arc length. This results in a better welding result in the end crater area, as the gas shield is also maintained.

TAC staple function

One point is enough for tacking: The pulse arc sets the two molten pools in motion, which means that they merge very quickly into one molten pool. The TAC function can also be used without filler metal when welding thin sheets.

TIG pulse

This function (up to 100 Hz) gives you very good control over the weld pool and an aesthetic seam. The pulse arc also facilitates the process with very thin materials because less heat is applied in the phases with lower current.

TIG Multilock system

For easy and flexible welding, the Multilock system offers a variety of interchangeable torch bodies with different lengths and angles.

TIG Multi Connector (TMC)

One solution for everything: This universal connection for peripherals such as burners with special functions (Up/Down, potentiometer) or remote controls creates product-wide benefits for the user.

Perfect welds in all welding positions with Ignis

The TIG version of Ignis enables both manual metal arc welding and TIG welding. Thoughtful additional functions such as TIG Comfort Stop and TIG pulse improve the stability of the arc and provide even better control over the weld pool. In this way, Ignis helps you maximize your welding potential.

Intuitive control, many setting options

– Rotary/push button (can also be used with gloves) – Various welding methods: MMA, CEL, TIG – Setting values: dynamics, welding current, HotStart/SoftStart, pulse and many more

Robust plastic housing, protected interior

Protection against dirt and damage to the components (IP23 protection) – Protected connection and operating panel – All components are fixed in the frame – Quick replacement of circuit boards and components – Improved and directed airflow

Optimized front grille

– Better protection against splash water – Optimal cooling for longer operating time – Integrated dust filter for better protection of the electronics
Fronius Ignis

Equipped for the future

Long service life

The Ignis product range is designed and manufactured to be durable. A quality stainless steel filter inside the unit, a robust casing and 3.5 cm ground clearance ensure a long service life for the welding machine.

Energy efficient

The integrated PFC (Power Factor Correction) technology ensures minimal energy losses even with long power cables. This makes the units extra energy efficient and minimizes disruptive feedback into the power grid. The optional automatic Time Shutdown (300 or 900 s) also ensures that no valuable energy is wasted when the unit is idle.

Updateable

It is quick and easy to add new functions via USB or to read important system information. The USB-B connection is protected inside the housing and is not affected even during demanding work.
